Is there such a thing as a Forex practice program?
Hey all, I was thinking about trying to open up another investment stream, and thought the climate may be right for Forex trading. It however, looks relatively complicated, and I was trying to find out if there anyone has any suggestions on potential programs that can be used to perform some realtime/fake money type practice? is such a thing available?
Hey guys, i've been practicing my trading on a demo account. Its been 4 months already and I just can't get enough profitable trades. I do my analysis as per price action(candlestick patterns) and also check the economic calendar. I also use some indicators(stochastic and Moving averages) to verify if my potential trades are good. I also check the resistance and support areas. I am not the type of trader who rushes into a trade. I am really dissapointed of how i trade, because it seems like almost everyone i see on the internet is making profit, and of course i see a lot of stopped out trades on my history rather than profitable ones. -To those who have been in forex longer, please give me advices. I think i really need it - I trade the 4h timeframe and I use pending orders
How many profitable trading account months (on average) before you would suggest someone start trading with real money? And what's a good amount of real money to trade with for my purposes?
I'm ending my first month of trading a Forex practice account up 1.5%. I'm pretty pleased with this outcome since my goal is to one day turn this into a job and not to get a crazy high rate of return or expect to get rich quick. My system and approach right now seems to be best described as "trend trading". It's mostly based off of "Naked Forex" (the book) and ForexSignals TV (a YouTube channel) but I've used a variety of other sources' advice as well. I also read the news quite a bit, usually for a few hours a day. My long term goal is to get a stable rate of return with a practice account and then move on to a significant but not huge amount of money, perhaps try to get sponsored or otherwise take the appropriate series exams (I had an offer to get paid to study and take the Series 63 at one point in time but since I had no actual trading experience, I passed it up for other opportunities), then if my practice account months go well I would start trading with a significant amount of real money while ideally not risking my savings. Finally, if I can turn a stable profit for X time on that I would start looking for a job or internships, perhaps go back to the guys who made me that offer some time ago by now. Unfortunately my educational background has no economics study at all, even though it was good enough that I had that offer to get paid a modest salary to study for the Series 63 and try my hand at a brokerage job, although that specific job offer was more of a personal relations thing and not as a trader myself. So to recap, here's my questions: (1) How many months would you imagine is appropriate with a practice account before moving on to real money? (2) If your goal was to get a job in a bank or a similar institution, what's the minimum amount of real money you would like to see in a real account before you would treat someone with no economics educational background as a serious candidate for such a job? Thank you for your replies!

How do I practice trading Forex more than just trading every night?
I am a swing trader and I trade the USD major pairs and some other major pairs with the EUR, GBP, CAD, Aussie, and Kiwi. Is there anything extra that I can do to make myself better at actually trading with my current strategies besides just trading every night and over time I will get better? I am looking for something more that I can do because I have extra time and really like trading and want to become better. Thanks
Spark Profit is a fun way to get your feet wet with Forex without risking any actual money (but possibly winning some)
Hey everyone! I posted a detailed review of Spark Profit in beermoney but I realized it might actually might be more relevant here. Basically, Spark Profit is a game that gives you points for accurately predicting the movement of various currency pairs. If you earn enough points, you can earn small amounts of cash. It has a very simple interface, so it's a less intimidating way to jump in than some of the Forex practice accounts. You can read my full description here.
Hi, I’m 16 borrowed 1k from my parents. I was confident i can be profitable after studying and trading paper money for 4 months. Basically after months of trading on a live account I blew up my 1k account. It was a good experience and somewhat knowledgeable. For the past few weeks I was up +500 then down -400 then finally I blew up my account. Shortly after blowing my account I’ve realized, trading might not be my thing or I just need more practice. This made me realize how much greed and how much trading is more of a psychological warfare. It was easy to stick to your trading plan using only 1-3% of your account per trade when your not using real money. My plan for now is to just try and get a job and return the money i borrowed (still scared to say i lost all the money) and keep paper trading for 6 months or longer. Edit: Thanks for the advice and helpful comments as well as for the criticism. I’ve been reading the comments and getting the most value out of them. I’ve decided to follow some of the comments I think made the most sense. So here’s my plan:
Get a part time job
Pay back my parents
Learn, practice, learn forex
Also a lot of people have asked me how in the world did I manage to trade when I’m only 16. Answer to that is my parents agreed to open an account under their own name. Also thank you again for going out of your way giving advices. It really helps me out a lot.
